Superhero: Muna Aden

Muna Aden inducted into the Love Superhero Hall of Gratitude in July 2022 as nominated by fellow Love Superhero Jay MacGillivray for her work on behalf of community as Program Manager for Research at Women’s Health in Women’s Hands. Muna is the behind-the-scenes magic with her quiet, rigorous ways supporting the expansion of research services and propelling Women’s Health in Women’s Hands capacity to deliver on data-driven methods and inform best practices. You might see this impact through conference presentations, grant proposals and community toolkits - they may not bear Muna’s name but her fingerprint and DNA of commitment and justice are embedded in the work.

With gratitude to Muna for her leadership and doing the work as only she can. May your good work and ideas continue to flow.

About the Love Superhero Hall of Gratitude

“The plain fact is that the world does not need more successful people, but it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane.” David Orr

I deeply admire those who "live well in their places." The ordinary and the unsung who offer to the world the very best parts of themselves without expectation. This is a beautiful expression of love in her calm, persistent, generous manner - offering a ripple of change (a metamorphosis) to the world. Inductees to the Love Superhero Hall of Gratitude are caped in recognition of their contributions to a love-filled world.
