I See The Beauty
by T. Elizabeth
Where ever I walk, I see the Beauty.
Where others see graffiti on a city sidewalk,
I see cement being used as a new medium
A rainbow of words painted across drab concrete
Teaching people, telling people,
Look at me! I'm down here too!
Where others see a muddy trickle of water
Making its way to the gutter
I see a river
The lights of the city refracting off of it
Sparkling like a diamond in the rough.
Will you come walk with me?
See the Beauty with me?
Because when two see it,
The Beauty of what others don't see,
There is twice as much.
There is twice as much to fill our eyes
To see
To share
To keep
To remember
To come back to
With you.
