Do you get nervous to give talks?

A question people ask "Do you get nervous giving talks?"Yes. Always for a new talk. Definitely when giving a new talk in front of someone/s I admire. One solution I have found is to cape the person I admire. I channel the nervousness into publicly displaying my love and affection.

It takes a guts. But a different kind of guts than the nervousness of the talk. The kind of guts that feels productive and useful.Truth speaking takes guts. And is worth investing in such a practice.Yesterday I got to tell a room full of people: I have fallen madly in love with Susan Scheer. She is wicked smart. She is generous. And she has kindly explained the data (sometimes multiple times!) to inform our work.
