"What do you love?" Friday

It's Friday. I'm taking a few minutes to think about what I love.  Will you join me? What do you love?

I love this magnificent painting by Remedios Varo, hanging now in the LA County Museum of art as part of the In Wonderland exhibit of female Mexican and American surrealist artists. I first saw this image several years ago in a book about Varo's life. I was so taken by thought of the woman feeding the moon ground up star particles that I mused about it hundreds of times, at some point vowing to go to Monterrey, Mexico (where they painting normally lives) and see it.  Lucky for me, the painting came to California this year coinciding with my kids' spring break.  Rounding the corner in the LACMA and viewing in person the brightness of the moon, the feather detail on the building, the earnest look in the woman's eye was even more amazing than I had imagined it could be.
