What a gorgeous day for San Francisco Center for the Book to celebrate their 10th Anniversary of the Roadworks Steamroller Festival. The Festival is a free, public celebration full of activities devoted to letterpress, printmaking and the art of the book. Utilizing a seven-ton Buffalo Springfield steamroller and Rhode Island Street -- yes, the surface of the street itself! - as a printing press, a team of ten featured artists will created large-scale carved linoleum prints in front of a live audience.I shared a booth at the event with my daughter, the amazing Making Tembo, and we wrote love notes with festival goers. Here is the first note on the line...an auspicious beginning to this fantastic day:Festival goers decked love notes in several languages.I wish I was neighbors with this love note writer. And I pretty much fell in love with this darling girl who took such care in crafting each curve and line of her letters. We even had several couples kissing after they finished writing their love notes, some hugs, and surprise love notes left for fellow festival goers. This father has a large, generous heart.I may borrow this gem as my own truth for tomorrow. The creativity genius of being able to customize the notes.Thank you #Roadworks festival goers for joining in the love note writing. What a great day! P.S. You can get your own love notes or live love note writing kit in the LoveYou2.org etsy shop.
