William being caped at the U=U dance party in the Global Village at AIDS 2018.William Matovu inducted into the Love Superhero Hall of Gratitude in July 2018 for embodying creative change and social justice with every aspect of his life.  William is a peer educator at Uganda's Love to Love organization, focused on lifting up the lives of Ugandan youth, particularly those youth living with HIV.  As one of the early supporters of the #U=U movement in Africa, William uses every opportunity to share publicly the good news that people living with HIV who have an undetectable viral load will not pass HIV to their partners. Using social media, creative memes, and a catchy U=U song he wrote and performs - William brings an unmatched energy and enthusiasm to the conversation.  Thank you, William, for your relentless pursuit of sharing information that empowers people.  You inspire us all!

About the Love Superhero Hall of Gratitude

“The plain fact is that the world does not need more successful people, but it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane.” David OrrI deeply admire those who "live well in their places." The ordinary and the unsung who offer to the world the very best parts of themselves without expectation. This is a beautiful expression of love in her calm, persistent, generous manner - offering a ripple of change (a metamorphosis) to the world.Inductees to the Love Superhero Hall of Gratitude are caped in recognition of their contributions to a love-filled world.
