story behind the heART: A sign to let you know I'm here.

So often we are looking for a sign - something that might illuminate our path or give a nod toward one decision or another.  Many times we are waiting for this sign to show up on our front door step and ring the bell, be delivered by post on letterpress stationery or arrive clearly marked in a Tiffany blue box. In reality, the signs we seek can be adorned in a cloak of disappointment or cleverly disguised in heartbreak's suit.

This heART was born as I giggled at myself while on the elliptical machine at the gym.  I

had to

work out with my phone on the machine's controls as I waited obsessively for a text message from Someone.  Gotta have that phone with me....just in case said Someone texts during my workout though hours of previous phone watching had not produced such a text.  I was looking for a sign.  Specifically from Someone.  Sure enough, during my workout texts arrived.  From my mom. From one of the lovelies. From my colleague.  Signs themselves, if I would allow them. My earphones blasted the popular Train song, "Calling All Angels" which opens with these lyrics, "I need a sign to let me know you're there." Yes, that is just what I need - a sign to let me know you're there....Someone!

Two seconds later the irony of the entire situation materialized as the idea for this heART was born and I stifled a real life laugh out loud. I made my own sign and posted it on the fence for me and for you. Just in case you've ever wondered or needed a sign.

I'm right here.
