my love for you at Hearts After Dark
The San Francisco General Hospital Foundation raises money for the work I love and the good work of many, many others. See their website for the front-page photo of the amazing crew I work with at the Bay Area Perinatal AIDS Center, serving HIV-positive pregnant women and HIV-affected couples with zero perinatal or sexual transmission amongst the clients we serve for TEN YEARS. That's a decade of HIV-free infants born in San Francisco, lots of family building, lots of love, lots of learning and growing. I am so grateful. The SFGH Foundation throws an amazing fundraising party each year - a Hereos and Hearts luncheon and an evening gala event - Hearts After Dark, raising money for the critical life saving patient care and research programs based at SFGH. What a treat to bring the love to AT&T park for the gala event! Adriana Cox, from Aloe Events, provided seamless event planning coordination -thank you! I arrived after work with my boys to set up the love note writing station.Oh, the many benefits of love note writing! My boys were thrilled to be in AT&T park and a small part of such an amazing event. Two of my besties attended the event to help with this "get love. give love." event. We invited attendees to write a love note about their connection or commitment to San Francisco General Hospital. The love notes would be displayed the following morning, February 14th Valentines Day, in the lobby of San Francisco General Hospital. I loved this idea of taking the public display of affection from the Gala event in AT&T Park to the hospital lobby! There were many gems written. This photo captures the essence of the event - Surf Mama witnessing the public display of affection.Early morning on Friday February 14th, I went to San Francisco General Hospital lobby to set up the notes. What a bright way to start a love filled weekend. I'm particularly grateful to have met the early morning security guard to right away wrote a note and and started to engage with people.Thank you San Francisco General Hospital for being the safety net, for creating a community to live in where ANYONE ANYTIME can receive the highest quality care. You are the essence of "get love. give love."
